Garmisch Day 1 - snow and smiles

on the train from Munich to Garmisch

Germany couldn't have come at a better time. Still reeling from the election, we hopped in a taxi, 2 planes, a subway, a train, and another taxi and FINALLY we arrived in Garmisch.

We were a bit too exhausted to explore the first evening when we arrived, but woke up at dawn and were treated to our first snowfall in years! It was just enough to make mini snowmen and it was hard to drag the kids in to go eat breakfast:

After breakfast, Dada fell asleep since he hadn't slept well the night before. The rest of us went back out to enjoy the fresh mountain air and softly falling snow, Harry's first!

In the afternoon we all took the bus into town and found a yummy restaurant where Little Oscar tried his first schnitzel and apple strudel. The strudel especially was a big hit! (No food pictures through since I refuse to take them.)
