With everyone finally well rested, the next day we headed up to The Zugspitze, the highest peak in Germany. Our kiddos were loving the cool weather that hovered around 30-40 the whole time we were there. Cool enough to enjoy some snow, but warm enough to be walking around.
At the next level down, there was about 2 feet of snow for the kids to play around in. The wind was pretty cold at this stop too so Harry stayed cozy and warm inside with Dada while we let Oscar and Livi play for about 20 min. Even after scaling the peaks and rolling down, Oscar somehow managed to stay dry. But Livi threw herself all over the place and ended up with very cold face and legs. It certainly didn't dampen her spirit though! When they were done we took another train ride down through the middle of the mountain.
On the way back down the mountain, we decided to have a meal in a small town right next to ours. To get to the village, we took a walk through a field where the kids found some more ice to play with. They carried these ice slabs halfway there and then halfway back home again before they slowly broke them down.
