Our new baby

It's a bit of a blur now, but last Saturday we got on the topic of dogs again. After researching a bunch of different breeds with our reluctant dog owner little Oscar, he decided that the lab was the best dog for our family. It just so happened that we knew someone who had just gotten a lab puppy from Sanctuary Farms in Naivasha (where we went camping with Livi's girl scout troop) and they had a few more left...so we piled into the car and 2 hours later were the proud owners of Dragon!

While I nursed Harry, Oscar and the kids spent some tie playing with the 5 puppies that were there trying to pick out the best one for our family. Dragon was the one who followed them around the most and seemed to just want to be loved.

While Dragon belongs to the whole family, it quickly became clear whose dog he will become... the only issue now is that she loves wrestling with him so much he seems to think she's a puppy too and tends to teeth on her. We're working on having her not giggle when he starts nipping to prevent him from chewing on her!

Harry is unimpressed at the moment, but I'm sure that will change soon

The big dog is Sakuma, a golden doodle that we're dogsitting for a few weeks. He's also the reason why we started thinking about dogs again!

And we can't forget our other baby! Here he is doing his best to eat a ball...

Lights, Camera, Action!

I've made lots of attempts to videotape Harry when he's being especially cute, but as soon as I take out my camera he tends to just stare at it. I did get a few to share over the past few weeks though:

I unfortunately have not been able to consistently get Harry to laugh. However, he usually laughs when he's happily surprised/scared (see video link below) or when you're changing him for his bath.

I was trying to get him laughing again...and got this gem I like to call "baby farts are funny"

Back to School - August 2016

With Oscar and I busy working, the next step was for the kids to go back to school. Livi was a bit more enthusiastic about it that Oscar, but both headed off with smiling faces.

The second day Spider Bunny made an appearance, and bounced her way to the bus stop. After an overwhelming first day, Oscar was a little less thrilled and wanted a few more extra snuggles before he braved the day. Thankfully he had a much better second day, has friends in his class and loves his new teacher.

In this day and age, there's never quite enough pictures of a new baby and all of their many faces. Harry is definitely not the exception, and there were a lot of napping pictures taken in August. We've introduced boo, and while he's not as into it as Oscar, he definitely enjoys it from time to time:

snoozing in the moon flowers in our backyard

a little walk in the garden

learning to use his hands

cozy after a bath - he loves to char when he gets out
