One huge benefit of being in the DC area is how close we are to the Taylor's! Another benefit is that lots of foreign service folk are posted and travel in and out of the area. As a result we've been able to reconnect with friends we made in Chennai! We even celebrated Zak's birthday together for the second year in a row:

We also sold our car last week…a sad day for Oscar but as a result we realized the awesomeness that is uber, and the kids LOVE riding the metro!

We headed out to the mall on the new Silver line (well, new to us) for Oscar to pick up some things. While he shopped, the kids and I hung out in the Apple store and grabbed some food. While Oscar's cool exterior may not show it, they were so happy with this meal they were dancing in their seats along with "Superstition" playing in the restaurant. He did say that it was a REALLY good burger, but it didn't beat Grandad's, whose burgers are "professional."
While the movers packed up our UAB, we had one more special visit with Elly and Aunt Daria - complete with a bedroom pizza party and a swim!
And then is was time to pack our final suitcases and had out…one last photo at the Oakwood Arlington…
And some silliness (well, from Livi at least) at the airport waiting for our plane:
Next stop, Nairobi!
