Fortunately, Oscar was able to make it back up for the 4th of July weekend and we got to spend some much needed quality time together.
For the 4th, we went to the Olszowkas for a BBQ and to celebrated Oscar's birthday part 1. We tried something different for the fireworks this year, but while the kids had a ball running up and down the big hill at Chestnut Ridge, we were a bit far from all the fireworks. You could see them all around you in the distance, but it didn't feel quite like the usual firework experience. Everyone was a little disappointed but we know to go back to our usual next year!
Dada's trip was short but sweet, and before we knew it he had to head back to DC. We fortunately had some things planned to keep us busy…including Oscar's Birthday!
We originally planned for Fantasy Island for Oscar's birthday, but for the second year in a row the weather didn't quite cooperate. We headed back to the Science Museum for one last visit (Oscar's choice!) and of course enjoyed some of Gigi's special cake.
The next day we headed out to Fantasy Island for more birthday fun!
