More May happenings

first time on the big beam (right)

Livi moved up from the preschool to the girls class for gymnastics, and absolutely loves it. She can't stop smiling throughout the whole class and has two buddies that she literally bounces around with.  Oscar is doing really well with the team, and we can already see that he's getting stronger. We're taking a little break from gymnastics, since we'll be out of town for most of June and July but plan to be back in August!

Here Livi is contentedly watching Frozen while they clean her teeth at her first dental appointment! The highlight was definitely the token the kids got to use in a vending machine for a toy surprise when they were done. Best part for me? No cavities!

Oscar and I went to see Garrison Keillor at La Petit Theater in the French Quarter to celebrate the 13th anniversary of when we met. After listening to him often on NPR, it was fun to finally put a face to a voice and he has a great stage presence. The theater was a great smallish type venue and we plan to return for one of their regular performances.

In mid May, I had a girls weekend with my buddies from college. Six of us met up in Del Ray, FL sans kids and husbands and enjoyed the sun and surf. We caught up with everyone's life outside of what gets posted on Facebook, and chuckled over the calls we got from our husbands looking for things. It was so fantastic to reconnect after so many years, and we're already planning our next adventure for our 40th birthdays!

While Mama was away, the kiddos and Dada did play! He even managed to get Oscar to wear our fav shorts he refuses to put on.

We also finally made it to the shores of Lake Pontchatrain in May. While they've made great strides in improving it since Katrina, there is definitely much more room for improvement to attract people to it's shores. The kids had a ball climbing on the rocks and concrete slabs though, and Oscar thanked us over and over again for taking them there :)

I'll leave you with a few more pics from our camera loving Pisces…
