More little updates

Some quick notes before Olivia wakes up!

Olivia:
- Her first sign! She kind of claps to let me know she wants "more." The actual sign is a finger in the plam, but she's morphed it into clapping. It can mean she wants more food or to be picked up. Being a woman of few words this is fun to see and it's time to add a new one!

-She claps to music and bounces, along with her singing.

-Walks around carrying things. Her favorites include things with straps, baskets, and heavy things that give her a challenge - like Oscar's step stool!

-She also likes to put things around her neck which is very cute, but also very dangerous! Between that and her new favorite hang out in the bathroom she's keeping us even more on our toes!

-My new favorite cute thing she does - She'll squat and peer around a corner to see what's behind it. Then stand up a little and look at you and smile.

-She's discovered the TV (oh joy of joys a 9months) and already has preferences for shows. She has no interest in sponge bob or other nick shows, but loves things like blues clues and yo gabba gabba.

Oscar:

-Reads to himself on the toilet. He'll go through every page of a book and say the story like he remembers it.

-He says he loves his sister all the time and asks to play with her.

-Likes to build ships and tranformers with legos. Very much into "shooters" still. Waiting for that phase to pass....or will it?

-Brings home cute little sayings and things from school like "You get what you get and you don't get upset."

-Likes to plan his day the night before. He always asks at night if it's a short or long nap, and wants it to be a short one so we agree. :) Then he'll list all of the things he wants to do in the morning and it usually goes like this: Eat a snack, watch TV, then play. Then go to school.

-He's in a phase of not liking school. Traumatized after an unhappy bathroom experience, he now cries every morning again and says he doesn't like school. Not so fun for us (or him!) and christmas vacation is coming at a good time. I'm hoping he'll be in a happier place about it after the new year!

-Sweet as ever, he gives lots of hugs and kisses and snuggles.

Can't wait to see these kiddos on Christmas morning!
