Cruisin to Bermuda

School ended for the big kids a week after we moved and they were so ready for the summer! They honestly weren't too happy that we moved, both wanting to stay where they were cozy and comfortable. But once we settled in they had to admit our new house was pretty awesome.

We kicked off the summer with a lazy week of unpacking and gearing up for our cruise to Bermuda! Luis arrived that week as well, and we helped get him settled on our home and the DC area.

The Sunday we left for Bermuda, we got up at the crack of dawn and drove to NYC to meet up with Missy, Charlie, Harrison, and Nana. We took a quick walk to times square to show Luis just a little of NYC. The kids were too little to remember the city at all and promptly decided NY was dirty and hot and crowded....we'll try to reintroduce the city to them in the fall or spring!

Then we boarded the Norwegian Escape and headed off to Bermuda! The kids had a blast with the buffets, water slides, and game room on the boat. Livi and Charlie we're thick as thieves and it was fun to see them giggling away in their own little world even though they hadn't seen each other for a year! Bermuda was gorgeous, and we only wished we had a few more days to explore before we had to head back home.

Harry alternated between being amazingly cute and a frustrating toddler...so pretty much was himself! 

We woke up on the 3rd day to gorgeous water and sunshine

The first day, we took a ferry to St. George Town and walked to Tobacco Bay Beach.

It was a hot walk to the beach, and the snow cones we're perfect at the top of the hill.

There were a bunch of small fish swimming around the rocks and we started talking about catching them. I bet little Oscar $20 that he couldn't catch one and he spent the whole time we were there trying to catch one (minus a break for lunch). He almost did but was foiled in the end...I gave him $10 for his perserverance and he was pretty happy with that.

He FINALLY passed out for a much needed nap. He loved being in the water!

We headed back on the ferry, but Oscar and Missy took a bus into town and saw some more of the island.

The next day we took a bus to Horseshoe Bay Beach. The surf was a little rough but it didn't stop the kids from playing all day in the water and sand. It was super crowded too but while Harry snoozed the rest of the family took a walk a little way down the beach and found some beach with less crowds to play for a bit. Harry and I also found a little baby area with much calmer water and he had fun playing peek-a-boo with little crabs.

On the third day, Missy and I took Livi, Charlie, and Harrison  to a beach right by the boat. The snorkelling was less than ideal but Livi absolutely loved it and her love for the water was truly apparent! Nana and Oscar had a nice day together and Dada took Harry and Luis souvenir shopping at the Port.

We had a few more days of fun on the boat before we made it back to NYC.
