A Merry Christmas

Since Dada arrived back in town a few days early from his trip to Israel, we were fortunately able to go to Austin for Christmas! Nana and Papa's neighborhood was covered in Christmas lights and looked like a winter wonderland. We spent several nights walking and driving through the neighborhood enjoying the lights. On Christmas Eve we started a new tradition and had tapas and cocktails at the McCormick's and celebrated big Oscar's birthday.

When we got back to Nana and Papa's, we continued the Franczyk tradition of reading The Night Before Christmas before going to bed. We forgot our copy at home, but fortunately Missy had one to share with us!

The kids miraculously slept until around 7am on Christmas morning, and woke the adults up to see what Santa brought and attack the impressive pile of presents under the tree.

The day after Christmas, Oscar had a bruise on his foot that kept him homebound (probably from jumping with excitement Christmas morning!) but Livi, Oscar and I headed out for a little hike. We missed Oscar, but he had a snuggly time hanging out with Nana and Aunt Jenny. Livi had an amazing time and loved being outside and exploring with Dada.

Upon our return home, we had Christmas part 2! The kids finished opening the rest of their Christmas presents as soon as we got home, since we found out 15 minutes after we arrived that Dada unfortunately had to travel to Boston the next morning. The kids spent the next few days playing with all of their new toys and visiting with friends.

All the crafts Oscar has made in handwork this year…his first sewing project was the christmas tree ornament.
His first knitting project is the red bird, his second the blue kittie!
