We weren't done yet! The weekend after Livis birthday was the biggest for Mardi Gras, which also coincided with the old Town St. Patrick's day parade. We pulled out our beads and checked out the parade. We've never been able to duplicate the excitement of New Orleans parades, but it's still nice to be out and about and get nostalgic for Mardi Gras!
We didn't make it through the whole parade, but watched a little bit of the dog costume contest ahead of time and walked a few blocks of the parade route with the dressed up doggies.
We grabbed some bread on the way home...
And made some "king cake." We ran out of time for the real deal so we used Pillsbury cinnamon buns! A surprisingly decent replacement. Harry got the baby!
For Livis final present we let her have her hair dyed. She was sooo excited leading up to it and was thrilled with the results. I'm not sure if a happier client has ever been at that salon!
The Taylors brought grandad back to our house right after and we had one final Livi birthday "cake" - this time Oreo pudding trifle.
And getting ready to show off her hair to her friends at school on Monday! Our amazing Livi!
