We miss New Orleans this time of year, as nothing quite beats the excitement in the streets and the all encompassing way it manages to shut the city down for everyone other than the parades! Our collection of beads gets a little smaller every year, but we still have plenty to decorate our Mardi Gras tree and hang around outside. We had an impromptu gathering one evening and made a king cake to share too. The baby was not as much of a hit with the kids' friends as we thought it would be, but Livi was happy to take it off of her friend's hands. I'm also not sure our gardener appreciated the decorations this year, since he kept asking if they needed to be cleaned up.

Livi was eating peanut butter one morning and Harry sidled over and stole the spoon after she was done with it. They used to say you should've give babies peanut butter until their 1 for allergy reasons, but now they say earlier exposure is better...who knows at this point but fortunately he didn't have a reaction and we do give him a little every once and a while now.
