Buffalo - Getting settled

Less than a week later, we were back in the car to head to Buffalo! Livi woke up with an ear infection the morning of our trip, and we ended up in an Urgent Care center for antibiotics. She got sick in the car, but she managed to fall asleep for a bit. Sickness aside, our kids have become road trip pros. While I've exhausted my creativity to make present packs for them to open every hour/state, they seem to be happy enough with a rest stop candy treat about midway through an 8 hr drive.

We arrived in Buffalo in one piece, and Livi was feeling better the next morning. We had the rare opportunity of spending a weekend together with both the Taylor and Grajales families, on Father's Day weekend to boot!

The dads unfortunately had to hit the road at the end of the weekend, but the kids and mamas kept on with some of our Buffalo traditions…from bike riding on St. James Pl.

 To visiting the Buffalo Zoo

Livi ended up with a high fever AGAIN mid week, and we took another trip to an urgent care center for more antibiotics. She was treated for strep, and thankfully felt much better after 24 hours of the new medicine.

While we were home resting, Oscar enjoyed the science museum and a trip to Gigi's house with the rest of the fam:
Elly blasting off with Livi in Mission Control
(before we had to leave with a fever)
uncovering fossils
building to withstand an earthquake
up in space
Gigi's toys
exercises with Grandad
Playing princesses - a favorite pastime of Elly's that even Oscar got into this time around.
Later on in the trip, he was very happy to incorporate some force fields and dinosaurs into the mix:
