Getting into the Holiday Spirit

where's Livi?
We had a busy holiday weekend last week, starting with Lycee's Marche D'hiver - the French Winter market that is Livi's school's main fundraiser for the year. It was chilly and windy, so it actually felt a bit like winter! We purchased a few crafts that Livi made with her class (owl and votive), and listened to her sing some songs with her classmates. Dada even got to do a little rescue work when the bouncy house blew a fuse and he went on a recognizance mission for any lost children in the folds. Fortunately they all made it out safely!

After the market, the boys and girls divided, and headed out for fun adventures. Oscar and Oscar experienced their first New Orleans parade with the Jingle Krewe. After they caught some beads, they headed to the aquarium, followed by beignets and hot chocolate!

Livi and I had our own adventure, starting with a Christmas Tea at the Ritz with our friend Colleen. You could tell Livi felt special the whole time, surrounded by tables of other little girls having tea with their mommy's and all the special treats that went along with it including a visit from Papa Noel.  I lost track of how many sugar cubes she ate at the tea, and they kicked in just as we were leaving…

We finished the weekend by getting our tree and our house finally smells like Christmas! Livi's been home sick this week, but she still knows how to strike a pose.
