The World we Live in

Last week, when I heard that the consulate in Benghazi, Libya was attacked and 4 Americans were killed I was in shock. I was barely processing that it's the first time in 30 years that an American ambassador was killed while the news was reporting of continued violence in Cairo against the U.S. Embassy. Then we got word that a protest planned in Chennai was taking an unexpected turn. Thankfully we had warning ahead of time and no one was hurt, although some exterior damage was done:

We're a little on edge, as we continue to watch the news and see what's happening around the world...Yemen...Tunisia...Sudan... and many other countries with protests, but thankfully without the level violence that gives the others international headlines. We laid low this past weekend, took a dip in the pool, and watched a lot of movies as more protests were planned:

So, that's where we are right now. We're going about our days business as usual, for the most part. We're safe and the kids are thankfully clueless about what's going on. We're hoping things have settled down here now.

On a lighter note, we've had some rain this month, and here are the kids enjoying an evening shower on our patio. Note the different opinions of how one should have fun in the rain...
