She's One!

Phew! What a weekend! As I'm sure you all know, what started out as a planned birthday weekend with the MacEachen clan at Aunt Jenny's turned into a Holiday Inn Express winter extravaganza! We sorely missed The Plymouth and NY MacEachens - and of course Dada, although it wasn't the weather that kept him away...he was too busy hanging out with gold medal winners... :) Howevere, we did have a wonderful weekend!

For a quick recap, in an effort to "beat the storm," Missy, Charlie and Nana raced by plane (and we raced by car) to get to Aunt Jenny's before the storm hit. We all got in Wed afternoon and we got to finally meet Charlie! What a beautiful baby!! A perfect start to the weekend, until the power went out Thurs night...throughout most of the county. So we weathered the night and headed to the Fishkill Holiday Inn where we hunkered down for 2 nights along with all the other people who managed to find a hotel room! With a pool and a Walmart (grrr..would've preferred a Target but beggars can't be choosers...) we were set. Olivia and Charlie had their first dip in a pool (they both LOVED it) and Oscar had so much fun splashing around. We then headed into Hoboken on Sunday and had an awesome spaghetti dinner for Livi's birthday, and cupcakes for dessert. She thoroughly enjoyed it of course. Thank you again for the cute books, bear, and outfits ladies! A lovely day in Hoboken on Monday...and then our goodbyes this morning. Not Oscar's favorite thing in the world, but he did OK and is "resting" downstairs...
Now we're just anxiously awaiting Dada's arrival tonight, complete with presents. Although the presents are all Oscar can talk about, he did assure me that he is excited for both the presents and for Dada to come home. It's been too long!!! I'm anxiously awaiting photos from both Jenny and Missy of this weekend adventure since Oscar hijacked our camera - hint hint! No rush ladies :) These photos are place holders...Livi in her first week and at 1! I just love the outfit in the second one and her spirit...racing around the kitchen table doing "puppy sprints!"

All in all, a memorable birthday weekend for our little girl!!! I still can't believe a year has gone by already. She's our force of nature, always smiling and so loving. Our beautiful baby girl - Happy Birthday!
