It's 65 degrees out so it's fitting that I should catch up the blog with a snowy Christmas post... We started off the Christmas festivities by opening presents from the Grajales side of the family the night before we left for Buffalo. Harry was a little unsure about what to do at first, but Livi helped guide him. He quickly learned that good things come in wrapped packages!
The next day weather was on our side and we headed off to Buffalo. Livi drew a map to show us the way:
Buffalo does not always have a white Christmas and while our drive up was uneventful, we woke up the next morning to a few inches of snow. Perfect for some outside fun.
There was also plenty of snuggle time inside:
 |
| Poker with Grandad. I should've stood on the couch to get everyone's head in the pic. |
 |
| Negotiations over gingerbread house decorating |
More snow photo ops:
 |
| Harry disappeared for this attempt at a sibling pic |
 |
| success! |
On Christmas Eve Eve we went to Uncle Lino and Aunt Kathy's house. The kids reconnected with their cousins and are looking forward to the summer to play together again.
On Christmas Eve, Nonni and Grandad hosted their first Wigilia. Gigi was still recovering from shingles, but was having a good day and stayed well past the 1 hour she originally said she'd stay! Sam was the rock star as usual, and he obliged by entertaining all 3 kiddos throughout the evening. Wiglia festivities were followed by the traditional reading of The Night Before Christmas. I even brought the book Grandad used to read to Daria and I when we were little!

Christmas morning was a flurry of presents followed by an epic Harry Potter Clue game with Peter Petti-poo and lots of giggles.

We had a wonderful trip although we wished it could've been longer. Unfortunately Oscar had to travel for work, so the day after Christmas we piled into the car and headed back to VA. The weather cooperated for the most part and we arrived safe and sound. It was a wonderful white Christmas!! Oscar and Livi agreed the best parts were being together with family and playing in the snow.
