While the folks back in Nola are knee deep in Mardi Gras, we have been thinking of our last home and missing the friends and spirit of the city this time of year! In a moment of parental inspiration, we cracked out our Mardi Gras spoils from the past 2 years, and started a new family tradition…
Three storage bins later, the rest of the house was in the spirit, and it was time to make some homemade king cake. They did decorate themselves first…

The rains seem to have stopped, so we've had to start watering our flowers over the weekends. The kids were quite pleased that this turned into their Saturday bath…
We found dosa at a restaurant at the village market!
For International Day at the school we actually had some US clothing to wear this time around, and they both got into the face paint to help show their spirit. 90 countries were represented at the school!! Pretty incredible. While the kids headed straight for the US hamburgers and hotdogs, Oscar and I thought the Israeli tent had the best food, with fresh falafel and homemade bread.
