Girl Scouts camping at Sanctuary Farms

We missed the boy scout camping trip, partly because Oscar was still healing and we didn't want to risk another infection in his leg, and partly because we got a little lazy and decided to take a weekend off from adventuring. The last weekend in January we were back at it again, this time camping at Sanctuary Farms with the Girl Scouts. The kids have already gotten so used to it here, the giraffes, impala, and wildebeest that roamed around the campsite got about 2 seconds of interest, and they promptly turned to throwing dirt at each other. Livi and I had some activities planned with the troop, and even though it rained, we found a big tent to hang out in for a story and craft until the clouds passed.

After dinner and smores, the girls gathered for skits and jokes. A lot of the older girls told started telling impromptu jokes and Livi gathered the courage to tell one too: "Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the dark side!" She got up in front of the whole group to tell her joke (about 50 girls and their families),  and it was so cute to see how proud she was afterward!

Oscar and I looked around at some of the bigger tents and decided it was time to upgrade, but the kids were perfectly happy in our 4 person tent... Sleeping was fitful at best, but a 2 hour nap when we get home definitely helped!
