December

Moving right long, school and work continue, we've had a few get togethers, and the kids have been busy playing. The first weekend in December we went to a Christmas Party at the Swedish School with some friends. The school is fairly small, but Oscar really enjoyed his introduction to Glogg (a Swedish drink with mulled wine and vodka) and Livi took full advantage of the free camel rides. What says Christmas better than a camel ride?!

Livi also became an official Daisy Girl Scout. She donned her smock for the first time, and the girls all said the Girl Scout promise and sang a few songs for their families. Livi was so proud!!

We have a special visitor with us this holiday season. A family from the Embassy was going away for the holidays and we offered to watch their yorkie, Dolce. I quickly realized that yorkies are not my type of dog, but Livi is in love and carries her everywhere. Fortunately Dolce is receptive to Livi's shenanigans…mostly!

Since all of my pictures seem to be of Livi here's a few of Oscar from back in November that I recently discovered when the boys did their camping trip with boy scouts.

We also made it to see Star Wars! We headed downtown to the IMAX theater and while the theater had definitely seen better days, but the movie was awesome. Livi was a little overwhelmed a few times with the sound and a few of the battle scenes, but she only left the theater once with Oscar and wanted to come back and watch the rest of the movie. She also lost her 3rd tooth right before we went in!

The kids have been anxiously counting down to the big day, and have already said they're not going to be able to sleep on Christmas Eve. We've made our way through all of our Christmas movies and added a few new ones to the collection (since we don't have TBS to help us along) - Elf, Grinch, Rudolph, Christmas Vacation, and tonight is A Christmas Story. Time to start wrapping….
