Home Sweet Home - Alexandria chapter, September

With a VERY packed car, we made our way down to Alexandria and arrived at our new home. Our stuff was arriving the next day so while we had our bed, Oscar and Livi had a slumber party in Harry's carpeted room.

Only Dragon seemed a little out of sorts
Taking advantage of a temporarily spacious living room!

The next day our stuff arrived. We marveled at how much we had, and of course how it was going to fit....which it eventually did. The kids were starting school the next week so they both had orientations. Livi loved her new school and was really excited to start and start making friends. Oscar was a little less enthusiastic but seemed cautiously optimistic about starting at his huge new middle school.

Waiting at the bus stop for Oscar's middle school orientation
We'd promised Oscar a cat when we to back to the States, and our first trip to PetSmart brought us to Coco! He fell in love and we caved. Coco purred her way into the kids hearts and quickly made herself at home. Dragon was ever hopeful to have a playmate, but Coco kept him at bay...although did get to the point where she would swat his tail when he walked by! (Coco has since found her new home at Missy and Tommy's house, but still holds a place in our hearts. More on that to come.)

Where's Coco?

first contact...
With the blink of an eye, the first day of school was upon us! Livi was more than happy to pose outside, but Oscar was determined to make his own mark and would only take a picture inside. He walked to the bus stop and was on his way....He takes a bus and fortunately has a friend that only lives a few blocks away that also gets on at his stop. Livi's school is only a few blocks from our house and Dragon, Harry and I take her each morning.

First day of 3rd grade

We were lucky that Oscar still had some time off when the kids started school which was pretty awesome and helped get us comfy in our new home. When he headed off to work, Harry and I spent some time exploring the area and checking out the playground by our house. And of course there are lots of photos of our littlest Grajales!

Oscar discovered a new beer, and Harry discovered he loves bottles!

Why wouldn't you hold a broom while you're swinging?
Some good family snuggle time, with and without electronics:

The rest of September is a bit of a blur, with everyone getting adjusted to our new digs and enjoying the spoils of being stateside.

Poppy's chair on the curb! It made it a block away to hold some Halloween decorations
HHE arrival!
Harry loves Livi's baby, and she comes in and out of playtime at various points. He was on a kick where baby had to read stories with us:
