We may have spent less than 24 hours there, but Vail deserves its own post. I still get a little wistful thinking about it. There is a reason it's one of the most expensive towns in the country. Quite simply, it's gorgeous. We rode in just before dinner time on Oscar's birthday and checked into our hotel. The room was nothing to write home about (in Lionshead Village with a view of some construction) but we hopped on the free town bus, and headed into Vail Village. The sun was shining, people were singing and dancing in the streets…OK, not really, but it was quite lovely. Did the kids like it too? Little Oscar just asked me last night when we could go back…

The kids found this statue of Al on our walk home, and on their own created a photo montage…
More photos! We honestly couldn't stop. We were all on a mountain high and even little Oscar kept asking to have his picture taken. Check out the snow capped mts in the background.

| We walked by the ice rink on our way back to the hotel and watched a local hockey game for a bit. |
