We had a wonderful Thanksgiving at our house that was both traditional and non-traditional. Traditional in that we had all the major fixings - 2 turkeys (imported frozen Butterballs!), stuffing, mashed potatoes, green beans, carrots, pumpkin pie, and the obligatory canned cranberry sauce :) Non-traditional in that in our 20 guests, we had 6 countries represented and 7 first Thanksgivings! Oscar tried his hand at carving the turkey, tried even harder to get out of it, and our gracious friend Goran eventually took over. With so many kids running around, we weren't sure how it would turn out, but they sat and ate and then played so well together the adults had a chance to chat and enjoy the wine.
The downside of Thasnkgiving in India....$85 frozen turkey (although the taste was actually worth it)
The upside....the hostess not having to wash a single dish. Thank you Pricilla and Ghanthi!
