Sensitive would be Oscar, and Sassy would be Livi! A few things I keep meaning to post but haven't gotten to! Pardon any repeats...
Livi
-She jumps when she gets excited
-She can be an absolute disaster one min and the most adorable thing in the world the next. A perfect example was this morning. She got up at 530 and spent the majority of the morning before we left for school crying or whining. On the way home from dropping Oscar off she was laughing hysterically jumping in puddles and waving at everyone we walked by. I think she's at her finest when she's out and about!
-Her favorite lullaby is a modified version of "Elmo's World" theme song, where I put in her name and everyone in the family.
-She's had a bit of a language explosion. She calls Oscar "Oz" which sounds like "Ossss" (at his request, since she can't say oscar!) and says baby, backpack (that sounds a lot like baby too actually...) hmm, i know there's more....maybe explosion was too strong of a word...at any rate she's communicating much more and loves to sing too!
-She's become extremely opinionated on clothing choices...she has one favorite outfit (which i fortunately have in two different colors!) and everytime she sees it she wants to put it one. She prefers blue and pink, and loves things with little flowers or animals on them (esp dinosaurs!). Leggings are the only pants she'll wear and although she likes tights, skirts are not a big hit. Now if she would only stop hiding in the clothing racks at the stores so i could take her shopping with me to pick out stuff she actually likes!!
Oscar
-We've had a major step forward, but also backward. Oscar was refusing to use the bathroom at school and we had a rough time of him wetting his pants everyday. Well, his teachers worked with him and after 2 weeks we found out he didn't like being in the stall by himself and wanted a teacher to stand behind him when he went. They think he may be afraid of getting stuck in a stall! (maybe it happened to him once or he saw someone get stuck?) anyway, that was a major step for us, only to go right into separation anxiety. It's different than lasts year's, but he cries every morning at school. He tells me before we leave the house that he's going to cry and as soon as we get to the coat room he's sobbing. He always wants me to stay, but I just try to tell him I'll be back to pick him up and he'll have fun with his friends. I know it's a phase but it's so sad to watch it slowly come over him. It's like he's resolved himself to be miserable for the day. I know he has fun with his friends, but as soon as I come and get him he's stuck like glue. He even turned down playing with the friends the other day at the park. Hopefully this phase will pass!!
-Other than that he's just wonderful! Playing with transformers still, creating ships and guns with his legos, "transforming" himself, playing with Liv (for the most part).
OK, early morning setting in...that's it for now! Next post will have to be an Oscar post. :)
