Well, Oscar continues to amaze me. A few months shy of 4 and this is what he thinks about!:
We were enjoying a lovely family evening walk along the Hoboken waterfront last night. Dada says he can see the Empire State Building and Oscar says he can too. (He knows which one it is because of the "big tall point on top.") Then all of a sudden he gets really excited and says, "Look!! They built it again!!! The one the bad guys knocked down." In front of us is a tall tower, thinner than the world trade center buildings, but very similar shape. We started to explain that is was actually a different tower and that the other ones aren't there anymore but they'll be buliding new ones soon and they'll look different. Dada had explained to him about the towers a while ago because they had been looking at a NY cityscape and Oscar noticed the big buildings. He filed it away and there it was.
He also had a nightmare last night and when I went in to see him he said he didn't want to go to sleep. I asked him if he remembered what he dreamed about since we've never really talked about it before. He said he ahd a dream about a mama, a little girl, and a baby. There was a bad man in the bushes and he gets little girls. Sheesh. That scared me!!! Well, I snuggled with him for a bit and reassured him it was only a dream, went back to bed and promptly had my own nightmare!! Thankfully he didn't remember the dream in the morning. There I was thinking he was having bad dreams about monsters and ghosts or something...why did it have to be so real???
OK, next time my post will be lighter but I want to remember these!
Hoboken Arts and Music Fest and a birthday party today!! and man is it hot!!
